Renishaw unveils new StreamLine Plus Raman imaging system
August 18, 2008--Renishaw's new StreamLine Plus Raman imaging system will be unveiled at ICORS 2008 (XXI International Conference on Raman Spectroscopy), being held this year at Brunel University, London, England, Aug. 17 - 22, 2008.
A unique development of Renishaw's StreamLine rapid Raman imaging system, StreamLine Plus is a further ten times faster thanks to optimization of software, detector hardware, and the use of Renishaw's new MS10 high-speed microscope stage.
It is now possible to collect spatially resolved chemical information from samples as large and complex as whole pharmaceutical tablets in less than 4 minutes.
According to Professor Duncan Graham, Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, University of Strathclyde, "The StreamLine mapping capability has opened new avenues for our research due to the ability to obtain high-quality spectra from a large area in a short time and, due to the line scan, with minimal sample damage. The mapping works equally well on biological cells and inorganic surfaces and really takes SERRS and Raman mapping to the next level."
